Adventures in Ethiopian Cooking

We love Ethiopian food. Ever since I got introduced to it, I really was interested in finding out how to cook this way. Two weeks ago, we discovered an ethiopian grocery and thanks to the web I found some recipes, too. So this is what I have been cooking.
On the top left is "Doro Wat". It's a kind of chicken stew and has the hard boiled egg in it. Next to it on the left is "Amhari - Mesir Wat", a spicy Ethiopian lentil dish. All the "wats" are made with a spice called Ber-Beri, an Ethiopian red pepper. The green dish was an attempt at "Alicha" an Ethiopian vegetable stew. I didn't like the way it turned out :( . Better luck next time. And the white stuff I just threw on there ...it doesn't really belong...it's cabbage salad.....what can I say ...after all I am Kraut.

These dishes are served on injera. The special kind of bread you see above. One also eats it with injera ...instead of using utensils...one uses injera. If you haven't tried it...you are missing out!

This injera is darker. It's the original one, made from teff. I like it better than what one gets served in the restaurant.

True love is ... breathing the exhaust fumes and dust of your Schatzies ATV...

Darn all those flies....guess they like all that mud

More fun at Green Ridge State Park

Green Ridge State park has an 18 mile ORV Trail. We went there 4 times on our vacation last week. I had so much fun. Wish I would win the lotto so I could have more fun times like this with my husband.

Look at this Pig!! Any chance you missed a puddle? I don't think so...
